On 3rd December 2009, an annual award ceremony was held in London at hotel Intercontinental by «The Banker» of Financial Times. The award ceremony was attended by the bankers from 117 countries of the world. One of the most prestigious publications in the financial sector awarded one bank from each country as The 2009 Bank of the Year. kaspi bank from Kazakhstan was awarded as the 2009 Bank of the Year.

According to the analysts of the dedicated magazine «The Banker» of Financial Times the year 2009 was hard for many banks and economies. Despite the hardships better managed and more focused banks gained an advantage for the successful long-term development.
